About Me, Ben
Gotta Keep this Kid Busy!
In an effort to keep her hyperactive son to sit still for a little while, my mother taught me to cane when I was 10. Little did she know that that first 4-H project (which she still uses!) would start a life-long passion for mastering the craft.
Experience
Over the next 20 years, I slowly honed my craft on friends' and family's furniture, lonely chairs that my family would find at the Kiwanis sale in Ann Arbor, and basically anything else I could get my hands on that needed to be repaired. Periodically, I'd add new designs, techniques, and materials to my portfolio. Eventually, though, my wife very gently had to put her foot down. A single house can only fit so many caned and woven chairs.
